The project features production from Clams Casino, ASAP Ty Beats, DJ Burn One, and SpaceGhostPurrp, among others. Guest appearances include Schoolboy Q, Fat Tony, and members of ASAP Mob, Rocky’s hip-hop collective.
Blending influences from Southern hip-hop with his New York roots, the mixtape’s production is characterized by hazy soundscapes, slowed-down beats, and chopped-and-screwed hooks. Lyrically, Rocky explores themes of excess, drug use, and moral decay, delivered with a confident and laid-back flow.
The project was propelled by the singles “Peso” and “Purple Swag”, which gained mainstream attention and helped Rocky land his first major record deal. Live. Love. ASAP received widespread critical acclaim, earning praise for its unique sound and Rocky’s effortless charisma. It was featured in multiple year-end best album lists.
