|Doc’s da Name 2000 is the fourth studio album by American rapper Redman, released on December 8, 1998, by Def Jam Recordings. The album peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200 and became a top seller, being certified platinum for sales exceeding one million copies.
The album features the hit single “Da Goodness,” which was later sampled in the 1999 Barbadian soca beat “Redman/Da Goodness Riddim.” Another standout track, “Let Da Monkey Out,” was featured in the 2005 film Syriana.
