Serengeti- Dirty Flamingo
Boombap Relickz dives back into 2002 to revive a whimsical Midwest oddity: Dirty Flamingo by Serengeti, produced front-to-back by DJ Crucial.
Born in a small Olivette studio just outside St. Louis, the album came together in an atmosphere where ideas drifted, jokes derailed into parallel worlds, and everyone moved with the same bright, unpredictable energy that filled the room.
That spirit is baked into the music. Serengeti follows impulse rather than heavy themes, slipping between playful stories, late-night scenes and everyday absurdities, all delivered with his unmistakable humor and charm.
DJ Crucial’s warm, soulful beats tie the whole thing together, giving the album its unmistakable early-2000s Midwest glow.
Try not to overthink it, the content of Dirty Flamingo will emerge the more you relax your mind, similar in effect to a 3-D Magic Eye poster
